Ten Love Affairs And a Painting By Câmara

Produced between 1976 and 1983, this collection consists of a source book (lithographs), a triptych, ten large paintings, 70 lytographs, 22 assemblages and three objects.

Contrasting with Scenes from Brazilian Life, which deals with the handling and fiction of public, historical and external images, this series uses images of couples (a man and a woman) in an enclosed environment, a sort of “analytical box”. Integrated with the carnal aspect of the theme is the processing of the painting itself, its skin and substance.

The artist appears in these works as agent, regent, and avatar of various characters and settings.

The paintings and objects in this series belong to the Roberto Marinho Collection in Rio de Janeiro.
